Previous Grant Winners

Below is an example of a well planned out program that would have received grant funding if COVID-19 had not caused this to be cancelled.

Wilson College of Textiles Community Clothing Swap

Summary:

Professors and student groups from the College of Textiles would like to host a community clothing swap on Centennial Campus. The event will be open to NC State students/faculty/staff as well as the local community to drop off clothes and shop for free from the donated items. During the event, College of Textiles faculty and students will show case through posters, and discuss with the public sustainability practices in the textile industry.

College of Textile student groups will volunteer their time to plan, organize, and staff the event.

The event will take place on a Saturday in March in the Convocation Hall at Wilson College of Textiles on Centennial Campus.

Budget Plan:

Available funding will be used for:

– Event rentals such as tables, chairs, table linens and clothing racks

– Marketing material graphic creation

– Paid advertising to the local community

– Food and drinks for volunteers

Marketing Plan:

We will use Eventbrite or Facebook as our main event website. We will also be using Facebook and Instagram to socialize our event. We plan to reach out to to local fashion, clothing and sustainability groups to see if they are interested in partnering in any way.

Inclement Weather Plan:

Since our program will take place inside at Wilson College of Textiles, we do not anticipate needing an inclement weather plan.
